made for the wild
NATURALLY DYED & HANDMADE
I hand dye all of my fibers using plant and insect dyes here on our ranch in Montana. The botanical colors reflect the vibrancy of the natural world, and best of all, they don’t involve chemicals or toxic waste. Botanical dyes only work on natural fibers, so I only use pure silk, cotton, linens and sometimes hemp and wool fibers

ethos
Rusty Sagebrush creates sustainable, durable & heirloom products while connecting people to rural, western culture through the legacy of the wild rag.
My hope is that everyone who purchases a wild rag will gain an appreciation for the wonders of our earth, whether it’s the vibrancy of the botanical hues, the strength of the silk fibers, or a feeling of connection to the farmers & ranchers who wear wild rags while working endlessly to care for land, water & wildlife.

“I absolutely love my wild rags from RS, they’re buttery smooth to the touch but hold up well to the elements when working in them while riding. The colors are so rich and I’ll find any excuse to wear them!”
LIZZIE E. —
“I live in Alaska’s interior, where winters are notoriously dark and cold. Nothing surpasses my wild rag for keeping the chill off my face and neck while snowmachining. But they’re beautiful enough to wear in town also! I already have two and can’t wait for my next one!”
MADISON M. —
“These things are the best! So soft, so warm, and so beautiful. I spend many cold days on the river in Alaska and my wild rags have never failed to keep me toasty. I have 5 colors and love every single one.”
CHRISTINE S. —
“I love these wild rags—I wear them winter, spring, summer and fall. They’re so cozy and luminous. The color in the silk has an iridescence that’s so beautiful, you have to see it in person. The only problem with these scarves is you’ll want one of every color!”
